Social Media Strategies

Before taking this course, I found it hard to believe how much research goes into social media campaigns and planning. Social media has turned into an extremely powerful empire that has made incredible impacts on the lives of businesses and the average person. My favorite element about this class was the Hootsuite training. Even though the work was fairly tedious and the training took a great deal of time, learning how to use a third party resource to amp up your social media interactions with the public. I found the CodeAcademy training to be a little less interesting because coding is not something I see being a part of my future career. Having open communication with my classmates, even on an online setting, as particularly interesting. Reaching out to fellow students my age over social media in a professional manner was quite different than direct messaging my friends over Instagram or commenting on a casual Facebook post. Overall, this class was incredibly informative in a field that can often be forgotten about. I feel as if a numerous amount of students can benefit from the learning opportunities that this course had to offer. Building a professional presence online is important to be informed about before graduating from college so you can make a good impression on future employers.
